Masters Degree in
Social Sciences, Human Rights, Psychology, Health or any other related field,
10 yrs of experience i
n implementing child catered HIV/AIDS programs, Strong
verbal/presentation and writing skills, Knowledge of MS Office
Support OVC Officers
to implement child protection and ECD related activities in the program, Work
with other program staff to organise Open Days in communities to support
integrated child protection services, conduct review meetings and quarterly
supportive supervision, Document and share lessons from child protection best
programming practices, Contribute to the workplan, strategies and other project
related reports, Lead the discussion and provide the technical content for
community consultative meeting on child protection and ECD, assist in the
training of program staff on child protection and ECD, Provide technical
content to the training modules around Child Protection and selected elements
of ECD, Lead the development of program strategies which focus on aspects of
child protection and ECD
Reporting to the
Senior Technician Advisor (OVC), the Child Protection Specialist will be based
in Blantyre and will be responsible for providing technical guidance and
ensuring implementing ain f programs and activities focused on delivering
selected child protection and Early Childhood Development (ECD) services to OVC
households, Additionally the Specialist ensure that OVC households are linked
to and referred to appropriate services
Knowledge of
evidence based strategies for sustained access to child protection among OVC
households, Experience in community systems strengthening with a particular
focus on child centred HIV/AIDS programs, Capable of working independently with
minimum supervision, Use of working independently with minimum supervision, use
of participatory methods, Results oriented
