Armajaro is recognised as one of the world’s leading suppliers of cocoa and coffee with origination & exporting operations around the world. Armajaro now require a Northern Ghana Business Head to help run our new cotton operation along with any other operations Armajaro may expand into within Northern Ghana.
The candidate will have operational responsibility for the Company’s activities in the Country, duties will include:
• Running of the office
• Recruit and supervise a multi skilled team – to include, shipping, purchasing, support, quality control, research and financial control
• Supervise the running of the gin on a daily basis
• Sourcing seed and inputs, such as pesticides
• Supervise the land being prepared, planting and harvesting
• Maintaining a strong relationship with government bodies
• Set up and manage a co-operatives of farmers
• Liaison with the head office in London
Key Skills & Experience:
• Cotton or other commodity procurement/ business management experience or African business running experience/ agricultural or micro credit experience
• Profit centre management- financial competence required
• Multicultural and large team experience
• Operational control and competence
• Relationship management with Govt and govt bodies
• Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with local suppliers, the workforce and Government bodies
• Accustomed to the reality and conditions of a lifestyle in Africa
Personal Qualities:
• Excellent communicator
• Calm, competent, professional and self sufficient
• Committed to the Companies objectives and to the success of the operation in the country
• A personable ambassador for the Company in the country
• Language skills essential
