Advanced Degree
9Masters) in International Development Studies, Law, Political science,
Economics, Social Science, International Relations, Public Policy,
Communications or another relevant subject, At least 7 yrs of experience in
election related professional roles, Proven in-depth knowledge in electoral
processes, Experience in election related work in Malawi, Excellent knowledge
of Malawian politics, Proven policy, advisory and advocacy experience and track
record of engagement with senior levels of govt, civil society and donors,
Excellent knowledge of and extensive experience in Malawi, including in
dialogue and conflict prevention initiatives, is an advantage, Prior profession
experience working with UNDP or international NGO highly desirable, Expertise
in developing strategies to develop stakeholder engagement plans and relevant
response planning to reduce such tension, Politically astute with demonstrated
experience in analysis and engagement, Proven highly developed analytical
capabilities
Fluency in oral and
written English is essential, Knowledge of local languages is considered an
advantage
Duration and
Reporting – 6 moths with possible extension , National Consultant will work
under the direct supervision of and report to the UNDP Senior Election Advisor
and in close collaboration with the MEC- Malawi Electoral Commission and MESN –
Malawi electrical Support Network
