Development of a ‘Bole’ Restaurant

By Akpeli Othuke Andrew
Having relocated from Port Harcourt to pursue my passion for what I had always wanted to be in life, I could not forget in a hurry what I had always being most of my launch delicacy- ‘Bole.’ Bole is otherwise known as roasted plantain, yam and fish garnished with pepper, tomatoes, palm oil, etc. as requested by the customer. It is highly nutritious and rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc. But it is regarded as an ‘unhygienic’ meal by some of the hypocritical corporate office people because it is mostly prepared and served on the road side.
Due to these, I wish to propose a development of a ‘Bole Plaza’ in strategic locations in the city of Port Harcourt to save this nutritious meal some of its criticism. This will ensure;
1. Providing Hygienic Bole Meal: Hygienically prepared Bole will be sold at affordable prices and also ensure its prompt delivery to people at home and/or offices without compromising good packaging.
2. Creation of Employment: The people in this business shall be incorporated into the plaza, and they shall be paid monthly thereby making as much money as they were making while independent. Over thirty youths shall be employed to ensure quality services and prompt delivery (this is geared towards reducing social vices).
3. City Beautification: Following the demolition exercise of illegal structures in Port Harcourt you will agree that the Bole sellers are mostly found in along the road-sides. This proposed plan shall get them of the road-sides through incorporation.
4. Fish Farming: With the view of sustaining this business and opportunities for employment, the establishment of a fish pond shall be considered incumbent. The fish need for the Bole shall be gotten from the pond.
Conclusion
Inhabitants of Port Harcourt are known to have a good taste for a good meal, Bole, as nutritious as it is to human health, is a meal to be made available to all. The proposed Bole plaza should provide the people in the society with hygienically prepared well packaged meals in a conducive environment and also reduces the rate of unemployment in the state.
