A U.S. court seating in Virginia has sentenced a man named Darwin Martinez Torres aged 25, to life imprisonment without parole for the rape and murder of a Muslim teenager named Nabra Hassanen in June 2017.
Nabra Hassanen was raped and murdered by Darwin Martinez Torres in June, 2017 near a mosque during Ramadan.
In a crime that shocked the United States in 2017, it was reported that Nabra Hassanen was attacked by Darwin Martinez Torres as she walked with friends after a pre-dawn meal.
According to investigators, there was no evidence indicating that the crime was hate related.
Darwin Martinez Torres whose crime was heading for a death penalty was spared the maximum sentence of death to get a life sentence without parole after pleading guilty to all eight counts charges.
