Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMIR)
with the support of Oxfam has been working with its members on promotion of
middle range financial products in horticulture value chains focusing on women
entrepreneurs. We are looking for Business Facilitators to engage with
entrepreneurs, producers and MFIs and work on the missing middle range loan
products in horticulture value chain. The facilitators will assist
entrepreneurs and producers to develop viable businesses through focused
capacity building strategies to ensure long term sustainability of
interventions.

Scope of Work
Business facilitators will report to the Research
and Development Program Manager of AMIR and will be responsible for the
following activities:

- Each Business Facilitator will work with 3 to
4 member MFIs and coordinate businesses of 8-10 entrepreneurs especially
women from the missing middle range financial facility (Rwf 2 to 10
million). - Assist the target beneficiaries to work on
business assessment and prepare realistic business plans for a short term. - Assist the loan approval team of assigned
members MFIs to evaluate the applicants’ business plans and advice on appropriate
decisions based on the assessment. - Manage all communications issues from
participating member MFIs and Technical support agencies and clients. - Determine the training and other capacity
building needs of target entrepreneurs and associated producers. - Assist the target entrepreneurs in record
keeping for their business. - Ensure that the implementation of various
capacity building trainings and services to targeted entrepreneurs are
well coordinated for the entrepreneurs within agreed timeframe and budgets. - Provide regular monitoring and progress
reports of entrepreneurs to the institutions/MFIs under your jurisdiction
and to AMIR ; - Collect and document best practices on monthly
basis for future dissemination to the AMIR wider membership - Any other task that may be requested by the
immediate supervisor;
Additional Information: Expected Deliverables
- Good management and coordination of activities
by 8-10 businesses managed by the facilitator per MFI per year. - Sustained and increased loan portfolio under
the facilitator. - Enhanced knowledge of entrepreneurs in
business management. - Improved loan disbursement criterion on and
procedures - Implementation of CIBS projects and services
well coordinated with other stakeholders. - Middle range partnerships well managed
- Clear management of records and reports for
the enterprises. - Enhanced level of awareness for the
entrepreneurs in business management. - Regular updates on business development and
recommended contingency plans for target entrepreneurs.
Qualifications
- University degree in Management, Business,
Agriculture, Engineering, Education, development or related field - Other trainings and experience in Business
Administration, project management, social entrepreneurship or financial
management field is an added advantage. - At least 4 years proven record of strategic
planning, business development and project management - Ability to learn from others and transform to
tangible actions - Proven experience working in East Africa and
Rwanda will be added advantage. - Proven record of business plan and proposals
writing - Strong interpersonal and organizational
skills. - Strong situation and context analysis.
- Experience in adult training facilitation
process. - Proven record of partnerships and sales
management in an multicultural international organization - Computer skills; Microsoft Office, Power
Point, Excel, Access, MS Project, Internet skills, Proficiency in Learning
Management Systems. - Strong writing and communications skills in
English and/or knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda is and added advantage
