Our client Aspire is
a local NGO in Rwanda dedicated to equipping vulnerable and impoverished women
with the knowledge, skills, esteem and mutual support networks to lift
themselves and their communities out of poverty. They are seeking to recruit a
self driven individual for the vacancy above;
Job Objective:
Responsible for
designing, implementing and monitoring projects that enable farmers to generate
additional household income, access to credit and undertake commercial based
agriculture through training. As well as ensure the program operations
are effective and sustainable in keeping with the standards of Aspire’s
policies.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- To
manage and implement selected projects within the country programme, as
directed by senior colleagues. - Responsible
for coordinating the implementation of the projects. - To
ensure availability of sufficient resources for the projects. - Develop
design documents with corresponding budgets. - Prepare
annual funding forecasts. - Review
monthly program financial and prepare management reports. - Prepare
and submit quarterly annual program progress reports. - Facilitate
the recruitment, hiring and training of new community staff. - Identify
training needs of program staff and follow them up to ensure effective.
.implementation. Manage staff performance. - Identify
and link farmers to new markets and private companies (local and regional,
International) where they can buy and sell their agriculture products. - Built
capacity of farmers on value addition of their products to improve the
product Prices in the local market (storage construction, post harvest,
handling trainings). - To
maintain good relationships with project partners. - Attend,
participate, and contribute in all forums organized by government, NGOs
etc on agro-based businesses. - Ensure
that effective marketing and communications strategies are in place and
are implemented effectively for each project. - To
line-manage, where appropriate, ensuring that full range of performance
management tasks are carried out for each line manager. Assume full
responsibility for own professional development in consultation with line
manager. - Provide
support as required to the work of the wider country carrying out tasks
from time to time which might be considered appropriate to all.
Qualification and
Skills:
- Must
have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or
in a related field. - 4 years
working experience with at least 2 years in full time project management. - Proven
track record based on evidence supporting possession of the following
essential behavioral competencies: achievement’s, analytical thinking,
problem solving, professional confidence, holding people accountable,
leading and developing others, relationship building for influence. - Identify
project management weaknesses in company processes. - Should
have knowledge of financial management & report writing. - Should
be computer literate in Microsoft word, Excel and other software packages. - Should
have ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels
of staff and other stakeholders - Must be
fluent in both written/oral English and Kinyarwanda.
