Okowa congratulates Super Eagles for semi-final qualification

On Wednesday, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles for qualifying for the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles qualified for the tournament’s 32nd edition semi-finals by beating South Africa’s Bafana Bafana 2-1.

Governor Okowa commended the resilience of the Nigerian national side in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, in Asaba on Wednesday, adding that Deltans and Nigerians are praying fervently for the team to succeed in their quest to bring home the trophy.

He commended the coaching crew and the NFF to ensure that all the logistics needed to encourage the Eagles to defeat their South African counterparts were put in place.

The governor encouraged the Super Eagles to stay focused and once again make the country proud when they take on the semi-final encounter in their next opponents.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State i congratulate you all for your success so far even as i urge you all to remain committed and focused as you approach your next opponent in the semi-final encounter.

“I have no doubt in mind that you (Super Eagles) will all remain committed as you prosecute the next match with same zeal and vigour as Nigerians are desirous to see you return home with the coveted trophy,” he added.

The Super Eagles will play in the semi-finals either Cote D’ivoire or Algeria.
