o A Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or other relevant field
o Strong web design knowledge, skills and experience with website development using:
• XHTML, DHTML
• Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• JavaScript
• Flash
o Experience with RDBMS and web database application development using:
• PHP (preferred) or ASP
• MySQL or other SQL database
o A thorough knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques is required
o Excellent skills and experience in use of Content Management Systems (CMS) like:
• Joomla (preferred) or Drupal or WordPress
o Excellent skills in graphics design, flash and digital animation and ability to use:
• Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks or Corel Draw
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Is organised and has ability to work under pressure
o Ability to work with strict deadlines
o Knowledge of web applications Java, AJAX, SOAP, JSP, and XML an added advantage.
Responsibilities include:
o Advise on the technical and design aspects of web site development
o Design of web pages, including graphics, animation and functionality
o Develop and enhance website architecture, application models and user interface specifications
o Implement security for web pages and security guidelines for website
o Publish and update information to the web site
o Configure and oversee management of web servers and web content
o Develop test procedures and performance assessment requirements of web site
o Implement corrective actions for performance improvements of website
o Implement search engine optimisation strategies
o Source and manage new revenue generating online marketing opportunities
o Document, respond to and incorporate customers’ and clients’ feedback into website experience
o Develop database-driven website interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing
o Improve and re-write web page source code and content
o Incorporate Meta tag development and implementation, and Keyword analysis and selection into website design
o Liaise with the Sales and Marketing team to incorporate standard and dynamic advertising products
