UAP Group is a pan-African Financial Services Group with interests in
Insurance, Investment Management, Property Development and Investments,
Securities Brokerage and, Financial Advisory. Currently, UAP Group has twelve
(12) businesses operating in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda and the
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and is concluding a transaction to enter
the Tanzania market.
In order to execute its ambitious growth strategy, Union Insurance Rwanda
Limited would like to recruit a dedicated team of ambitious, focused and high
performing professionals for the following key roles:
HR/ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR/Administration Officer will
ensure that all human resources and administration needs for business
function(s) are met and coach and advice line management on people and human
resource issues.
Principal accountabilities:
• Develop and execute People Strategies & Plans that attract, develop and
retain employees to support the organisational short and long term business
needs to drive competitive advantage and address opportunities and threats;
• Coordinate and execute manpower planning for the specific business functions;
• Ensure Performance and Talent Management drive the achievement of business
goals through objective and development plan setting, performance appraisals
and talent development;
• Implement business functions succession planning / talent management plans
that support business goals;
• Ensure People Managers use tools effectively to assist individual and team
performance improvement at all levels;
• Establish and maintain effective win-win working relationships with employees
and their representatives through an environment that fosters communication and
cooperation;
• Promote and foster a culture and environment that is productive, open,
empowering, safe and equitable and coach others to behave and make decisions in
line with UAP Core Values;
• Ensure Line Managers and employees understand the HR model and can quickly
and efficiently access solutions;
• Collaborate with Line Managers within Business Functions to ensure
initiatives and projects are designed and implemented that support business
people plans ;
• Provide objective and timely feedback to the managers on the quality of HR
service to ensure the overall HR service to the business function meets or
exceeds the agreed standards; Work as part of cross functional HR teams to
develop HR practice and process developments that contribute to enhancing the
HR contribution to the business;
• To oversee and administer the Administration and Facilities management
function;
• Provide HR support to all Agents ensuring compliance with the HR Guidelines
and Policies.
Qualifications and Skills
• University Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or related discipline;
• Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management;
• 3-5 years´ experience in Generalist HR;
• Good Business Acumen (understanding of the business, performance drivers and
long term direction
• Understanding Financial & Non-Financial Business results, & the HR/
People impact;
• Sound knowledge of Functional HR expertise, including Rwanda´s Employment Law
&Labour regulations, Compensation, Performance and Talent Management;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure and manage
time efficiently;
• Highly developed communication skills; both written and verbal sold
