UAP Group is a pan-African Financial Services Group with interests in
Insurance, Investment Management, Property Development and Investments,
Securities Brokerage and, Financial Advisory. Currently, UAP Group has twelve
(12) businesses operating in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda and the
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and is concluding a transaction to enter
the Tanzania market.
In order to execute its ambitious growth strategy, Union Insurance Rwanda
Limited would like to recruit a dedicated team of ambitious, focused and high
performing professionals for the following key roles
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Reporting to the Marketing Officer, the Business Development Officer will
develop and grow the business by
creating good relationship between clients, agents and brokers in a manner that
ensures achievement of set business targets.
Principal Accountabilities
• Prepare competitive quotations based on proposals and requests and ensure
these are presented within 24 hours ;
• Follow up on quotations to close business and obtain feedback;
• Participate in negotiations and discussions on prospective business;
• Conduct product presentations to clients, agents and brokers;
• Daily servicing of clients to nurture the relationship between the company
and our customers;
• Follow up on renewals to retain ;
• Conduct market intelligence to obtain information on activities in the market
and advise the management on business opportunities/threats presented by these
activities;
• Participate in development to fill special market niches, market and promote
these products
• Provide support services and training to agents, brokers and clients
• Engage/ participate actively in advertising, promotion and public relations campaigns aimed at actualization,
the Company´s PR and Communication Plan and to build/position the UAP brand and
image in the market place.
Qualification and skills
• university Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or any other
business related field ;
• Progress towards ACII;
• Qualification in Sales and Marketing;
• Minimum 3 years´ experience in Marketing in a reputable General Insurance Company,
Insurance Broker or Bank;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skill;
• Excellent interpersonal relations skill ;.
• Ability to work as a team;
• Extensive networking with corporate organizations and intermediaries;
• Good analytical skills;
• Good Computer skills.
