About the Role
Save the Children se
eks an
experienced humanitarian who has on the ground operational experience.
The Humanitarian Advisor is a
technical resource that is utilised across the organisation to build our
expertise and profile in humanitarian response. The Humanitarian Advisor will
work closely with the Head of Humanitarian Affairs to ensure oversight of strategic
programmatic priorities and the development and delivery of quality
humanitarian programs. The Humanitarian Advisor will advise on the direction of
assigned programs to deliver the best humanitarian outcomes and maximise our
impact for children. The role will focus on delivering quality humanitarian
interventions by working closely with in-country teams, SCI Regionally and at
The Centre, and SCA Program Managers by defining strategy, growing revenue and
developing quality humanitarian programs.
You will have
· Significant and demonstrated
experience in humanitarian response and programming.
· Identification and management
of organisational and operational risks.
· Significant experience in
operational or programmatic functions (e.g. logistics, operations, technical
areas).
· Ability to analyse strategic
trends and develop appropriate plans and responses.
· Experience in developing,
reviewing and tracking strategic plans.
· Proven experience in developing
funding proposal and attracting funding.
· Ability to act as an ambassador
at the highest levels including national and international media.
· Ability to work under pressure
and to tight deadlines.
· Excellent interpersonal and
relationship building skills.
