Scholarship Description: The successful candidate will contribute to the development of
pre-breeding materials for IRRI’s variety development teams through
conventional and marker-assisted recurrent selection. She/he will work on the
marker-assisted selection for the development of male sterile version of
selected parental lines for population development. This is funded by the
STRASA project.

Roles and Responsibilities:
-Implement MAS for the development of male sterile lines
-Assist in designing current selection strategy
-Conduct genotyping and phenotyping for the recurrent selection program
-Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the
Supervisors.
