of operation. The General Manager will manage staff, foster a positive
environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper head office operation.
The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to
the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that
increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement. The General Manager
reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and coordinates his/her
activities with him.
Responsibilities
- Responsible
for overall office management, financial administration and day-to-day
operations. - To
maintain excellent relationship with the National Bank of Rwanda ensuring
that all reports are accurate and delivered on a timely basis. - Responsible
for maintaining satisfactory individual and group loan repayment rates. - Implementing
and enforcing the strategic plan and company policies. - Prepare
the regular and Annual reports and provide updates as required. - Maintain
relationships with government, external vendors, and the MFI community. - Personnel
Policy development and update as required. - Directing
all operational aspects including distribution, customer service, human
resources, administration and sales in accordance with the PMFL’s
objectives. - Providing
training, coaching, development and motivation for bank personnel. - Developing
forecasts, financial objectives, and key performance indicators. - Represent
PMFL at conferences/seminars/meetings when needed. - Attend
regular MININFRA working group meetings and represent PMFL. - Develop
long/short-range strategies and goals consistent with the mission and
capabilities of PMFL for Rwanda. - Develop
and implement a strong business model for ensuring sustainability. - Ensure
growth and profit targets are realized and sound deposits portfolio is
established. - Develop
and deliver on a customer focused culture and establishing high standards
of customer care within the microfinance program of the institution. - Develop
and implement tools and measures of quality control. - Assess
local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales
opportunities. - Develop
forecasts, financial objectives and business plans. - Responsible
for annual budget and allocating funds appropriately. - Locate
areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges
and leverage growth opportunities. - Adhere
to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable
laws. - Network
to improve the presence and reputation of the company.
- To
ensure that the Accounts department updates the inventory record on fixed
assets every month - Ensure
board meetings are held in a timely manner and minutes reported to key
stakeholders.
Qualifications

- Masters
Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Economics, Accounting,
Finance or related area of study. - Minimum
5 years of management experience, preferably in the area of Business
Administration, Finance, or related field. - Proven
branch management experience, as a Bank Manager or similar role. - Sufficient
knowledge of modern management techniques and best practices. - Ability
to meet new loan issuance targets and repayment rate goals. - Familiarity
with Rwanda’s banking laws, regulations and code of ethics. - Excellent
analytical, writing and organizational skills. - Experience
in strategic planning, budgeting, control, financial analysis and risk
management. - A
working knowledge of financial software and spreadsheets. - Demonstrated
strong program management skills, especially in the areas of planning,
monitoring, evaluation, budgeting and team management. - Strong
communication skills, sensitive, able to work with people of different
backgrounds and social positions, including policy makers and the media. - Demonstrated
skill and experience in proposal development, work plans, technical and
progress reports in Kinyarwanda, French and English. - Excellent
negotiation, marketing and presentation skills. - Innovative,
positive, and realistic in approach to solving problems. - Proficiency
in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). - Proficiency
in Google Drive applications (Docs and Sheets). - Fluent
in English, both written and verbal.
