Saharan Africa. Knowledge-building and adaptive approaches to extension and
VSLA techniques of development are critical to the success of this work.
MCC
consolidates learning from others researching and promoting VSLA in the region.
He/she builds CFGB program capacity by disseminating this learning in the form
of workshops, in-person mentoring visits, publications, etc. Members and
partners are advised as they develop VSLA program proposals, and then further
supported throughout implementation and evaluation. VSLA project serves in
Different districts that are:Rubavu, Musanze, Gicumbi, Nyamagabe, Ruhango,
Bugesera ,Burera, andKayonza

order to maximize networking opportunities and facilitate travel, the
coordinator will be located in Kigali, Rwanda. Personnel support and
supervision is provided to this role by the MCC Area Directors for Central
Africa.

Description of VSLA Coordinator
Duties
- Along
with partners, supervise the work of the field staff - Support
and oversee VSLA groups managed by field staff and partner organizations - Ensure
the program is following the Savings for Life (VSLA) manual - Support
training of Village Agents and provide refresher training for Field Staff - Receive
andmonitor VSLAreports of Field Staff and share with partner organizations - With
the field staff visit and give advice to VSLA groups - Evaluateanddeterminethe
needed support to Savingsand LoansGroups - Submitreportsto
the Network andMCC - Supervise
and monitor the database - Keep
recordsof the Networkon thesavingsand loansproject - With
the Presidentof the Network, organizeregular network meetingson thesavings
andloans project - Hold
regular meetings with each of the five partners - Support
theNetwork in the activitiesof savingsand loans - Collaborate
with CA coordinator and MCC and partner organization volunteers - Organize
field visits of partners and MCC to VSLA groups
Qualifications
- Person
of integrity - Bachelor’s
degree in field of: Management, Accounting, Business Administration,
Finance, Human Resource management and other related fields - Knowledgeable
about savings and loans programs; knowledge of Village Savings and Loan
Association (VSLA) preferred - A
minimum of three years’ experience with savings and loan (VSLA) - Experience
in community development and project management - Organizational
skills with an eye for detail - Strong
people management skills; conflict resolution skills preferred - Passion
for improving the lives of Rwandans - Able
towriteproposals andreports - Willingness
towork with the Network of five partners involved in this project - Ability
to speak Kinyarwanda andEnglish or French, English is preferred. - Computer
skills, particularly knowledgeof Word andExcel - Basedin
Kigali andwilling to travel regularly to the districts - Ready
to start working three days after the interview - Experience
working with and through local partners - Ability
to motivate and develop the skills of others - Analytical
and problem solving skills - Ability
to work both independently and as part of a team - Proven
track record in report writing - Training,
