Partners
in Hope (PIH) Medical Centre is a Christ-centered Malawian NGO that exists to
demonstrate Christ’s love in word and deed by providing quality healthcare to
everyone. We are located on the Blantyre Road (MI) opposite St John’s School.
PIH provides the following services:

1. Medical Centre with a clinic for
private patients, low cost HIV/AIDS clinic, a 15 bed hospital ward, HIV testing
and counseling cent

er, community outreach program, extensive laboratory and
radiology diagnostic services, and a workplace program for public and private
sector organizations and businesses.

2. Training Centre for Medical
students, lab personnel, nursing (from local universities), and also from
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)

3. Capacity building in several
districts through grants from USAID and Hilton foundation.

PIH seeks
to fill the vacant position of Medical Director.

Description
Reporting to the Executive Director and a member of Executive Leadership Team
(ELT), the position oversees all clinical, diagnostic, and spiritual services
at the Medical Centre and through our community outreach programs. As an
Executive Leader, PIH is looking for a well-trained physician who will lead by
example in providing compassionate/ quality healthcare and
demonstrating/articulating the gospel of Jesus Christ to our patients, staff
and community.

General
Responsibilities
Clinical Management and Administration —

·
provides
oversight, support and supervision for senior clinical departmental heads and
physicians;

·
monitor
and provide general Care to in-patients and out-patients;

·
organize,
coordinate and monitor activities of clinical and diagnostic staff to ensure that
the quality and appropriateness of services meets the required standard;

·
oversee
managerial responsibilities such as planning the workload and staffing of the
development, at senior levels;

·
ensure
that interface between Medical and other departments are managed optimally;

·
ensure
effective team communication in relevant departments throughout the application
Of suitable reporting systems and structures and the identification an
provision of appropriate ,training;

·
represent
PIH in key relationships with Ministry of Health, CHAM, Medical Council,
mission agencies and other key stakeholders in regard to clinical and
diagnostic services.

Strategic
Planning and Development

·
Work with
ELT and Board of Trustees in the development and expansion of PIH’s strategic
Plan.

Mission,
Policy and Planning —

·
As a
member of ELT, provide support to the Executive Director and Board, in
determining short and long term goals for the organization.

Requirements

1. An MBBS or its equivalent with a
minimum experience of 5 years.in a senior management position; Specialist
Qualification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine will be an added
advantage

2. Excellent practical medical
skills

3. Demonstrate the ability to
consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience
and judgment.

4. Demonstrated excellent leadership
and management skills.

5. Excellent teaching skills.
