An exciting opportunity
has arisen at Eynesbury Senior College, one of Adelaide’s oldest private senior
secondary colleges offering Years 10-12 and specialising in preparing students
for university and life beyond the classroom.  We are currently seeking an
experienced and driven Mathematics Key Teacher. This role is based at our
Franklin Street campus in the city.

This is a
substantial part-time position for an expert Mathematics Teacher. It is
anticipated the teaching load will be at least 3.5 lines and probably more,
with the Position of Responsibility of Mathematics Key Teacher (.5 line)
additionally attached to this role.

The position of
Mentor (.5 line) is also potentially available for this position. Applicants
willing to undertake this role will be regarded favourably. 

5.5 lines comprise a
full-time load at Eynesbury. The total load in 2018 might thus be close to or
even full-time.

Role of the
Mathematics Teacher

The role includes
(but is not limited to) the following:

  • Demonstrating
    high-level expertise in – and a passion for – Mathematics as a discipline.
  • Demonstrating
    expertise in pedagogical and assessment strategies appropriate in a senior
    secondary college.
  • The
    ability to communicate professional knowledge in a way which is
    enthusiastic, energetic and engaging for students in a pre-university
    setting.
  • A
    willingness to work with students closely in a supportive environment
    outside of the traditional classroom setting.
  • An
    understanding of the national education reform agenda driven by AITSL and
    ACARA and a commitment to engage with change as a result.
  • Active
    participation in performance and development strategies.
  • Contributing
    to a collaborative and solutions-focused organisational culture

Role of Mathematics
Key Teacher

This is a Band 2
Level 2 position attracting a release time of 0.5 lines. The role includes (but
is not limited to) the following:

  • Set and
    communicate the academic standards expected in all Mathematics courses
    offered at Eynesbury
  • Work
    collaboratively with other Mathematics teachers to ensure that these
    standards are maintained
  • Lead
    and support Mathematics teachers in the implementation of the Australian
    Curriculum at Stage 1 & 2 of the SACE.
  • Demonstrate
    a thorough knowledge of the Yr 10 Australian Curriculum, including the 10A
    curriculum.
  • Demonstrate,
    as appropriate, leadership in the application of current information and
    communication technologies in the Mathematics classroom.
  • Convene
    meetings of Mathematics teachers and disseminate professional literature
    as appropriate.
  • Assess
    the Mathematics proficiency of incoming students and provide ongoing
    Mathematics course counselling so that students select appropriate
    Mathematics courses.
  • Establish
    support programs for students that require additional assistance and extension
    programs for more able students.

The Mathematics Key
Teacher reports to the Principal, Eynesbury Senior College, and the College
Director, Eynesbury College.
