As an organization dedicated to the conservation of New Brunswick’s natural
heritage, Nature NB engages in educational and stewardship activities wherever
we can. Right now we have volunteer spaces open in Saint John for assistance in
a study on bird collisions that are anthropogenic in nature. Many bird
populations are in decline and this study will help to begin quanti
fying the
percentage of bird populations that are lost due to collisions with buildings
in the three major cities in New Brunswick. This is a time-sensitive
opportunity as migration has already begun.
Description:
All we ask is that you volunteer a few days a month, in the mornings, to survey
for bird collisions that may have occured overnight in your city. No experience
is necessary, we provide training and supplies. Mileage will be covered for
volunteers.
