OVERVIEW
Halton
Environmental Network (HEN) is a non-profit network of approximately 50
environmental groups, committees, and organizations operating in Halton Region.
HEN’s mission is to support and enhance the capacity of its member groups and
facilitate communication, cooperation, and action. HEN is currently seeking a
visionary Executive Director who is enthusiastic about the environment and can
move HEN forward into a leadership position in the environmental field in
Halton Region.

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop,
plan, implement, and sustain the strategic plan with the direction of the
Board - Initiate,
develop and implement projects and programs as appropriate under the
strategic plan - Develop
and implement the fundraising plan for long-term financial sustainability - Build
relationships with current and potential stakeholders in the non-profit,
private, and government sectors, including member groups, donors and
sponsors, and project partners - Oversee
major projects led by HEN, including participating on their respective
Steering Committees and project reporting - Recruit,
train, manage, and evaluate staff and volunteers; including administrative
activities - Represent
HEN at community events and manage all communications (e.g. social media,
newsletter) with the public and stakeholders - Plan,
develop, and publish HEN’s annual publication of the Halton Enviro Guide - Oversee
finances including supporting the annual audit and budget approval
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum
2 years’ managerial experience (preferably in the non-profit sector) - Proven
leadership and project management experience leading small or mid-scale
projects - Prior
experience and/or knowledge of strategic planning - Past
fundraising experience and understanding of various grant and sponsorship
opportunities - Demonstrated
experience in networking and building stakeholder relationships - Excellent
written and oral communications skills - Broad
interest in the environment - Ability
and willingness to travel through Halton Region as required - Strong
proficiencies in MS Office, WordPress, and social media platforms
