 Agriculture Programme Manager, Location: Nsanje,
Reporting to: Programmes Coordinator, Start date : As soon as possible

Will be directly responsible for managing GOAL’s Agriculture programme in
Nsanje district.  Te main activities of the Agriculture programme are seed
and tool distribution to displaced households in Nsanje as a result of the
recent flooding, working with extension services for training in agriculture
techniques, ongoing monitoring and support.  This high-level management
posit is responsible for all aspects of these interventions, in
cluding technical
management, strategic direction, co-ordination of activities, organisational
representation, donor reporting, budgetary management, administration and
logistics

To manage GOAL Malawi’s Agriculture Programme ensuring quality, compliance with
donor, GOA and national policies and achievement of results, Led the
development of GMs Agriculture strategy in line with the Country Strategic
Plan, in consultation with CD/ACDP and GOAL’s global WASH Advisor, Monitor and
report on project activities using GM’s project management and monitoring tools
and structures, Ensure effective implementation of GM’s programmatic
approaches, To support/lead the development of evidenced based promising
practice for knowledge management and business development, To contribute to the
development of donor proposals in conjunction with the appropriate staff, To
lead on programme financial and programmatic reporting for internal and donor
attention, Managing submission deadlines to ensure timely review in advance of
donor submission dates, Ensure that the line manager is kept updated of
programme developments, including difficulties,
through regular direct personal communication and monthly reports, Keep track
of reporting deadlines, requirements, and formats for each project and donor, plan
report development in advance, develop or delegate reports, and submit drafts
to ACD-P allowing enough time for review before reporting deadlines, Maintain
complete, up-to-date and orderly records of project, correspondence and
documents, Independently monitor progress of activities and meetings of
targets, objectives and impact, according to donor-approved project work plans,
Ensure that strong monitoring systems are in place at all sites and provide
timely information to support both GOAL’s internal requirements and the overall
programme’s monitoring and evaluation needs, Review monitoring findings and
lessons learners to measure quality of activities and troubleshoot needs for
ongoing technical assistance
