About the Role:
The Buyer/Contract Administrator/Sourcing
Specialist is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate
complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet
day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action
or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Achieve lowest possible cost for material,
balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs. - Solicit and evaluate proposals employing
appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using
available expertise from supporting organizations; implement purchase
contracts following applicable company and government regulations. - Evaluate current and anticipated requirements,
determine potential sources, obtain bids, and plan programs to meet
business needs. - Provide coordination and leadership in
procurement activities for assigned commodities. - Responsible for assigned commodities to meet
the requirements of the business.
As directed, consolidate procurement activities for assigned commodities,
including development to Supplier Database sources. - Maintain timely control of orders, amendments,
shipping notices, and other required documents to assure orderly
administration and retention of records. - Coordinate training of suppliers to accomplish
business initiatives and develop competitive manufacturing facilities. - Develop Standard operating Procedures and work
instructions for the import / export processes in line with the company
policy. - Manage each shipment and make sure they are
delivered on-time to the appropriate warehouse. Constantly track each
shipment to prevent any delays. - Resolve, escalate, and enhance processes to
prevent delays in any shipments or to improve the import process,
including communicating with brokers and freight forwarders.
About You:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience on project
related procurement roles or logistics role
Exposure to Oil & Gas projects
Good working knowledge of Australian Suppliers in particular Fabrication
Companies and Machine Shops. - Highly developed communication skills (written
& verbal). - Good time management skills.
- Ability to work proactively and autonomously.
- Ability to interface effectively cross
functionally - Good knowledge of International & Domestic
logistics requirements for Australian operations. - Availability to travel at short notice to both
domestic and international destinations. - Experience working with shipping procedures
and freight forwarding - Good leadership & negotiation skills.
