One position is to be based in the UK (DT5893), one in the USA (DT5894) and the third in the Benelux region of Europe (DT5895).
Key outputs and deliverables:
• Train new and existing customers in biological applications of RDL products, both on-site and off-site
• Assess customers’ operational needs and match with RDL’s product solutions
• Assist in testing, validation, and documentation of new applications and products
• Work in partnership with Sales, Service Engineers and other resources to provide effective customer support through telephonic, e-mail, and direct interaction
• Maintain technical service database and reference files, documenting response times and delivering on commitments made to customers
• Actively contribute to the maintenance of quality systems
• Communicate customer and product feedback to Marketing and R&D to further improve quality and the customer experience
• Contribute to technical publications, application notes and SOPs
• Act as the first point of contact for vigilance and post-market surveillance
Qualifications and expertise:
All applicants are required to have the following:
• A BSc (2:2 or higher) or MSc in molecular biology, microbiology, virology or related fields, or the equivalent of these qualifications
• Significant industry laboratory expertise in molecular biology, assay development or advance spectroscopy
• Industry expertise of customer interface responsibility
• Expert proficiency with molecular diagnostics, assay development, spectroscopy and related instrumentation
• Practical knowledge of infectious diseases, molecular biology, and fluorescence-based assays

Although not essential it would be desirable if applicants have some of the following:
• Knowledge of IVD medical devices, medical devices or diagnostics
• An understanding of biochemistry, molecular biology and genomics and related assays and equipment
• Familiarity with ISO13485 and ISO9001 processes
• Knowledge of assay design and troubleshooting

Person specification:
All successful applicants will have excellent communication, project management, and time management skills. They will be capable of working as part of the team but also independently at customer installations and training. They will be comfortable working at the bench, presenting data and explaining technologies to different audiences, and be confident in customer interface with science and technology demonstrations.
FAS Europe: The individual in this role will be able to communicate in multiple major European languages including English. They will be able to commit to the travel required for managing sites and initiating new installations, which can make up 50% of this role’s duties.
FAS UK: The individual in this role will be able to commit to the travel required for managing sites and initiating new installations, which can make up to 50% of this role’s duties. The ability to communicate in multiple major European languages would be advantageous.
