EDC’s International
Development Division (IDD) focuses on three major areas: literacy and basic
education, youth livelihoods and workforce development, and health. Within
these three areas, programs support national school reform efforts, HIV/AIDS
prevention and other health promotion, and communities and local governing
bodies. EDC works with governments, agencies, and other partners in 35
countries to develop programs that are respectful of cultural traditions and
beliefs.
EDC is preparing for
several projects to both strengthen comprehensive care and support for orphans
and other vulnerable children (OVC) and basic education initiatives in Rwanda.
EDC seeks to fill several positions including:
****Economic
Strengthening Tech
nical Director****
The proposed
Economic Strengthening Technical Director will have responsibility for all activities
associated with improving the economic stability of households caring for OVC.
- Master’s
Degree or higher in social sciences or social work, or a closely related
field is required; - At
least three years of experience designing, implementing, and managing
household economic strengthening initiatives in/for developing countries; - Experience
in leveraging private public partnerships is preferred; - Strong
interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English are also
required; and - Two
years of experience living or working in a developing country is desired.
