applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position
of
PRIMARY
PRINCIPAL 2017
The Italian
Bilingual School (IBS) commenced in 2002 as the first school in Australia to
provide a bilingual education in English an
d Italian. Since 2013, it has been
situated at Meadowbank. The current enrolment is 150 students (co-educational).
IBS is a
progressive, non-denominational school, offering Preparatory to Year 6 students
a quality education based on the NSW curriculum within a structured bilingual
framework.
The new Principal
will be a dynamic and strategic educational leader, who will:
- Have a
strong and practical commitment to the Mission and Core Values of the
School; - Support
the aims, objectives and strategies of Co.As.It.;
- Lead
the School community in promoting an educational vision for the future; - Drive
the School’s improvement processes to maximise educational opportunities
for students; - Foster
a safe, purposeful, caring and inclusive learning community; and - Optimise
the School’s financial, physical and human resources
Applicants will need
to demonstrate:
- Effective
leadership experience in schools; - Tertiary
qualifications in the areas of primary education and curriculum; - Sound
understanding of ‘best practice’ in bilingual education.
An appreciation and
understanding of the Italian language would be a distinct advantage for this
position.
