Chemonics seeks a
monitoring, evaluation, and learning director for the anticipated USAID-funded
Malawi Feed the Future Ag Diversification for Incomes and Nutrition (ADIN)
project. The anticipated five-year project will foster inclusive and
sustainable growth in Malawi’s agricultural sector and
improve the nutritional
status of women and children under five through a proven nutrition-sensitive
approach layering agriculture and nutrition behavior change interventions in
rural communities. The project will also increase competitiveness of
high-value, nutrient-rich value chains through support for agricultural
enterprises and increased access to markets and finance. The monitoring,
evaluation, and learning director will design, implement, and manage a
comprehensive performance monitoring plan that directly supports the project’s
development hypothesis. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making
a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities
include:
- Work
with technical staff to oversee tools for data collection, storage, and
analysis - Train
staff and partners on monitoring, evaluation, and learning (ME&L)
system operations, collection methods, and tools - Monitor
and evaluate program components in agriculture, water, sanitation and
hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and behavior change; develop, introduce, and
maintain a nutrition surveillance system - Perform
data analyses, generate reports of findings, and create graphics to
contribute to reporting requirements and project communications products - Plan
for and supervise intermittent performance evaluations, collect and
disseminate lessons learned, and share successes during project
implementation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree required. Degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, or a
related field preferred. - At
least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience - Relevant
technical abilities necessary for high-quality ME&L; at minimum, the
ME&L director must possess strong capacities for spatial analysis
including the use of geographic information systems and experience in the
design and roll out of nutrition surveillance systems - Experience
in overseeing a monitoring, evaluation, and learning system of broadly
comparable scale and scope - Experience
in relevant data collection and processing methodologies - Experience
working with local organizations to ensure effective ME&L - Experience
with USAID preferred - Experience
working collaboratively with the government of Malawi, international
donors, and local organizations - Strong
leadership and communication skills - Demonstrated
leadership, versatility, and integrity - Fluency
in English is required
