Chemonics International, a U.S. based
international development consulting firm, is seeking a senior agronomist/deputy chief of party for
an anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable Food,
Agriculture, and Nutrition Activity (Hinga
Weze). This five-year, $33.5-35 million project will sustainably
increase smallholder farmer incomes, improve the nutritional status of Rwandan
women and children, and increase the resilience of the agricult
ure and food
system to the changing climate.
Senior Agronomist/Deputy
Chief of Party:
- Master’s degree in international development,
agriculture/agronomy, environment, or related field. - Seven years of experience managing food security and
agricultural development programs. - Foundation in a broad range of agriculture subjects:
including agriculture economics, agriculture policy, agribusiness,
agronomy, agriculture extension, and market development. - Familiarity with nutrition sensitive and climate smart
agriculture concepts. - Experience designing or managing sustainable
agricultural production systems. - Familiarity with agriculture research integration in
project implementation - Experience working to improve private and public
extension systems. - Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
French and Kinyarwanda preferred.
