Branch Manager

Main functions:
 The Branch Manager shall direct and manage all day to day Edmonton branch activities
in order to achieve specific goals and targets. He/she is responsible for:

–      
managing numerous departments, support staff and direct reports;
–       assuming a role acting as an intermediary
between field operations and management while providing leadership, knowledge
and direction;
–       invest time and money in our company
personnel to ensure high retention rates, and attract qualified applicants; and
–       hold responsibilities for the achievement
of Alberta Glass goals and targets, focusing on high levels of customer
satisfaction.

to:               
C.E.O.

Responsibilities:

Provides strategic
direction in alignment with leadership team’s strategic goals regarding team
activities and expectations, including collaboration with all project
stakeholders;
Resolves complex issues and conflicts;
Oversees and guides all departments through change according to its impact on
the project, its operations and people;
Oversees Project teams to ensure timeliness and quality of project deliverable,
post-project review and documents key lessons learned;
Provides reporting leadership team according to complexity, risk and
stakeholder reporting requirements;
Provides coaching/guidance to project management staff during the completion of
the project, supported best practices, and impacts to those stakeholders;
Incorporates project management standards, processes and procedures in all
deliverables;
Participates in setting branch budgets, oversees and reviews project and branch
budgets;
Demonstrates ability to lead and drive change, with the skills to see the big picture and manage multiple complex projects at one time;
Promote a culture of ’employer of choice’ to attract, retain and motivate the
best quality team members; and
Works to develop industry relationships, develop new business, identify
opportunities and develop strategic alliances and/or joint ventures with
industry partner.

Qualifications/Requirements:

5+ years’ experience
in a Branch Management role (construction preferred), or the equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or
Engineering (preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered).
A proven track record of sales, marketing and general business management
experience, preferably in construction management, project management or
equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
with a preference to the building envelope or glazing industry.
Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite, MS Project
and Internet.
Be well-spoken and have the ability to speak clearly and confidently in all
business settings
Able to conduct and reside over corporate meetings, participate in strategic planning and collaborating with the leadership team
and fellow managers is essential.
Able to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports.
Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees.
Effective time management, prioritization skills and
effective at setting action plans to achieve business targets.
Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities, makes self available to staff,
provides regular performance feedback, develops subordinates’ skills and
encourages growth.
Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations,
ordinances and legislation, OH&S regulations and related building codes.
Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills.
Knowledge and experience in various construction delivery methods (design assist, Construction management, etc.)
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
Legally able to work in Canada.
Ability to travel as required
