Region history as well as a Discovery Centre dedicated to showcasing local arts

Job Description
has received funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation for a project, “Celebrating Mississauga’s Unique Cultural Heritage“.
Over the next 24 months, project deliverables are:
development and documentation of a communication network connecting our many
diverse cultural communities
– coordination/creation of a number of tools, including a Cultural
Heritage Guide, information booklets, and a Heritage Film Series.
full time role offers a unique opportunity to complete a range of very
interesting work, in a beautiful heritage environment, with a flexible work
schedule, and the possibility to continue in the position after the contract
finishes, dependent on available funding.
individual hired for the position of Outreach Coordinator will be responsible
for the coordination of administration, outreach, communication activities and
the development and production of the components of the project. Some
evening and weekend work with be required.
Reporting to the Executive Director and with the support of Heritage
Mississauga Staff, the Outreach Coordinator will: develop and implement
outreach and communications plans; establish a Cultural Heritage Guide Steering
Committee; coordinate production of the Cultural Heritage Guide, the Heritage
Film Series, and Informational Booklets.
position will be based at the Heritage Mississauga offices at the
Robinson-Adamson House, “The Grange”, 1921 Dundas St. W.
Requirements:
Must:
• Hold a relevant university degree and/or equivalent education and experience
• Be a mature self-manager with evident self-confidence and professionalism
• Possess a background in Sales, Business Development and/or Client Service or
other relevant area
• Have project management experience
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Social Media
communications, graphics software, internet and database programs
• Be able to multi-task, work independently, and manage the demands of multiple
deadlines
• Knowledge of the Mississauga community an asset.
