Job Summary: The Behaviour
Change Communication Manager – Mass Media (MM) will be responsible for the Mass
Media (MM) activities in the project. S/he will be responsible for strategic
planning, design, implementation, coordination, and monitor the execution
of the BCC-MM campaigns and interventions related to the project.S/he will
liaise with the ad-agencies, printing, and production firms regarding the
development and production of communication messages and materials. S/he will
organize stakeholders meetings with the various partners, and also work closely
with the Research, Mentoring, Evaluation, and Learning department to ensure
that all mass media interventions are informed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop various BCC MM strategies and guidelines
to guide the day-to-day implementation of result oriented interventions. - Responsible for the design communication
strategies to create behavior change in target populations. - Actively co-ordinate with ad-agencies in the
development of Mass Media BCC concepts, strategies, and campaigns, and
implement high quality BCC campaigns. - Develop and disseminate targeted communication
messages that increase public knowledge and raise awareness on behavior
change. - Follow-up with the BCC officers to conduct follow
up of regional MM activities. - Create, implement, and measure the success of
communications that will increase the uptake of healthy behaviours. - Proactively monitor implementation of the Mass
Media campaigns. - Co-ordinate message concept testing and
pre-testing of all communication materials that are developed. - Work in consultation with the Research, Monitoring,
Evaluation, and Learning team to evaluate MM approaches. - Document lessons learned success stories, best
practices, and community mobilization experiences during the course of
project implementation. - Compile and prepare timely periodic reports.
- Ensure documentation of best practices under the
project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferable hold a
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communication, Public Health, or other
related degree within the Social Sciences field. Post Graduate training in
health communication is an asset. - At least six (6) years of progressively
increasing responsibility in managing public health communication-related
projects of similar scope in private sector and social marketing field. - Past exposure and experience in working with
ad-agencies is a must. - Significant experience in developing and
designing Health Communication strategies is an asset. - Working knowledge of and experience with
USG-funded activity management, policies and procedures will be an added
advantage. - Past experience in private sector approaches and
have experience successfully implementing social marketing and behavior
change communication programs in diverse geographic locations. - Excellent leadership skills to ensure effective management
of partnerships and relationships with stakeholders. - In-depth program experience and an appropriate
balance of technical, financial, administrative, managerial and
interpersonal experience and oversight. - Demonstrable results in previous work environment
should reinforce claims to this experience. - Demonstrated management skills, including
relevant experience in direct supervision of professional staff. - High level of interpersonal, technical, and
analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively
and collaboratively with and present information to a broad range of
public and private sector counterparts, donors, implementing partners,
host country institutions, international organizations, and other key
stakeholders. - Possess the ability to work in fast-paced dynamic
environment with multiple partners. Flexible and independent. - Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral
and written communication skills (in English), and good communication,
presentation, training, interpersonal, and team work skills. - Excellent past performance references.
