WorldTeach Year-Long Volunteer Teaching Jobs Vacancies in American Samoa

Description
WorldTeach volunteers in American Samoa will teach English, math, science, or business courses in public elementary schools and high schools. Volunteers are placed on the main island as well as on several outer
islands and live in apartments or houses. WorldTeach encourages all volunteers to become involved in extracurricular activities and community life. The activities outside of the classroom greatly enrich the overall experience.

Volunteers depart in mid-July for orientation and they must commit to 11 months of volunteering. Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis until April 1, 2012.

This program is fully-funded by the Department of Education of American Samoa.

The year long program requires volunteers to be between the ages of 18 and 65 by the departure date. Volunteers must also have a Bachelor’s degree (in any subject) and demonstrate a desire to teach. Volunteers need not be a US citizen, but must be a native English speaker.
