Role
overview
VSO
is looking for dynamic Rwandan nationals to fill in 4 positions of drivers for
a 3-year Building Learning Foundations (BLF) programme to be implemented in
partnership with DFID, Education Development Trust, British Council, Ministry
of Education, Rwanda Education Board, 30 District Local Governments and all
primary schools across Rwanda.
The
drivers under Building learning Foundation (BLF) are responsible for driving
staff, partners and eventually visitors in compliance with the safety and
security procedures of VSO Rwanda. S/he is responsible for ensuring the vehicle
are maintained in good condition and all the travel books are always filled per
as organization procedures. S/he will maintain movement records and register
accurate log entries of mileage, refuelling and services received at all times.

Field operation officer, BLF PM and District engagement coordinator.
Contract: Open-ended
contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
Skills,
qualifications and experience required
Skills,
Knowledge and Experience required
  • Certificate
    of Secondary school or TVT certificate
  • Valid
    driving licence (Category B) Full, clean driving licence CatB, and
    significant driving experience
  • Experience
    in working in a multicultural environment and to work under pressure
  • Knowledge
    in mechanics
  • Extensive
    knowledge of 4WD vehicle maintenance
  • Computer
    knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge
    of the Country’s geography
  • Commitment
    to VSO’s values
  • Willingness
    to travel outside of the region for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility
    to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and a constructive and
    creative approach to problem solving
  • Good
    interpersonal skills
  • Basic
    Knowledge of English or French
