Better Schools Project Manager –
(10 weeks) Salary MWK 512,341.00
Demonstrated understanding of the
Project cycle and its implementation, Ensure the delivery of all agreed
project activities by set deadlines, Ensure cohesion amongst all project
partners to encourage an integrated project approach, Ensure with the support
of the M&E manager the project is monitored and evaluated within the
required and agreed M&E framework,
Timely submission of consolidated
project reports to the Senior Programme Manager- Education, Initiate, organise
and facilitate regular technical stakeholders meetings on achievements,
challenges and key activities of the project
Assisting the projects financial
management ensuring accountability, analysis and reporting and analysis of
financial expenditures to management, To manage project budget to within 5% +
or variance of the phased and final budget, Providing full explanations as
required of any anomalies, Monitor finances in line with approved practices in
the office and in liaison with the Finance Manager, optimise effectiveness
within allocated resources
Ensure that all programme and
financial donor reports are submitted on schedule, Coordinate all the project
partners reporting requirements and be the key link between all the project
partiers, Document lessons learned and provide feedback to partners, staff and
other stakeholders, Work closely with M&E team to ensure activities are in
alignment with log-frame
Successful candidates will be
based in Lilongwe with frequent travel within Malawi
Sound negotiation, problem
solving and decision making skills, Excellent leadership with ability to
influence and motivate, Ability to work within budget provisions and applying
budgetary Control Measures, Strong financial management skills with experience
in project budgeting, expenditure and reporting, Strong knowledge of Malawi’s
health sector especially engagement at district and community levels, Strong
organisational skills with ability to prioritise work issues to meet deadlines
with minimal supervision, The ability to work proactively, analyse
implementation challenges and other solutions to overcome them, Knowledge of
project management with at least 3 yrs experience in a similar role, those with
particular focus on community heath and economic empowerment will have an added
advantage
Be qualified to degree level in
an appropriate discipline such as education, social sciences, project
management, Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
and Chichewa, A valid and clean driver’s licence, Be willing to travel
extensively to project site
Successful candidates will be
based in Lilongwe with frequent travel within Malawi
