Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a
volunteer based emergency service. VICSES has a wide range of roles including
planning for and responding to floods, severe storms, earthquakes, tsunami,
road rescue as well as search and rescue. VICSES also provides a support role
to other emergency service agencies including Victoria Police.

Reporting to the Manager Emergency Management Planning, this role will support
the Emergency Management Planning business unit in providing best practice
planning and advic
e to stakeholders on Municipal Emergency Management Plan,
auditing and emergency management training and support SES Regions to undertake
emergency planning, community emergency risk assessments (CERA) and community education
for floods, storms, tsunamis, and earthquakes.
The role will also provide administrative support to
the EMP Unit including researching and preparing draft reports, communication
documents, maintaining and monitoring correspondence, and, project reporting.

To be successful in securing this position, you will
have:

- An awareness of natural and technological
hazards and their effects on the community§ - A demonstrated awareness of the emergency
management arrangements of Victoria§ - Strong written and verbal communication
skills, including presentation skills§ - Information management skills including an
ability to use databases, spreadsheets and word processing.§ - Experience in facilitating small groups and
fostering networks§ - Ability to apply research and analysis
skills to identify solutions for problem solving§ - Strong organisational skills including the
ability to project manage, prioritise tasks and prepare reports.§ - Understanding of Geographic Information
Systems§ - Current driver’s license§
