Job Status: Permanent full time
Reporting Relationships:
• Reports Directly to the Environmental Manager
• Works with the Sustainable Solutions Department and Account Managers
Job Duties and responsibilities:
• Leader for the Turtle Island Recycling green team
• Researching industry opportunities and outreach for organizations
• Scheduling Earth Month and Waste Reduction week activities
• Implementing new projects: Training videos, podcasts, web chats
• Set up trainings for Cleaners/ Trainings/ Lunch & Learns for Tenants, Staff
• Conduct waste Audits; Physical sorting of the waste, data entry, report writing, analysis and planning.
• Complete diversion Reports: data entry and analysis of customer waste programs.
• Hold educational Booth Displays/ Trade Show Booth Displays/ Web chats
• Create award applications for clients and the company
• Setting up social media accounts to engage with clients
• Hold plant tours for clients and the public
• Assist in department’s projects such as: implementation of recycling and waste reduction programs, educational programs and marketing material programs.
Job Specifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge:
• Education: A university degree in environmental science and/ or sustainability and/or human behavioral science is preferred
• Knowledge of current environmental issues, applicable Environmental and Waste legislations (ie. MOE Regulation 102/94) is an asset.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office applications and proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, word processing.
• A passion and proven commitment to excellent customer service experience
• Experience in the Waste Management field is an asset
• Access to a car on a regular basis is required
