Transmission of ABO system

Due to the presence of Iso – antibodies against non –
self blood group antigens, individual of type A blood group immediately rise
anti B antibodies against B. If transfused with blood from B group, the anti- A
antibodies bound to B antigen in the red cells and cause complement. To blood
group B and O, however only AB     blood
group does not have anti – A and B Iso – antibodies, this is because both A and
B antigens are present in the cell. (Mohandas and Narla, 2005).

The table below summarizes the antibodies and antigen
in the blood groups.
