The Toronto Centre for the Arts (TCA) opened in 1993 and is home to over 300
performances and events each year; it comprises multiple performance spaces
often used simultaneously: the 1789 seat Main Stage (which will soon be split
into two smaller venues scheduled to be in operation in 2015); the 1036 seat
George Weston Recital Hall; the 150-200 seat Studio Theatre, as well as the
multi-use Gallery and vast lobby spaces. Popular
and classical concerts,
conferences, graduations, comedy, family shows, school concerts, dance
recitals, lectures, musicals, opera and plays are sold side by side every year,
with ongoing educational and community programming.
This is an
opportunity to join the team of an exciting City-Owned venue which celebrates
the cultural diversity of Toronto, serves the neighbourhood, the local arts
community and the City of Toronto as a whole and supports the thriving artistic
character of Toronto and its neighbouring municipalities, particularly through
the activities of non-profit arts organizations.
This is the
opportunity to join the team of an exciting, not-for-profit organization that
celebrates the cultural diversity of Toronto. We are looking for a highly
motivated individual with a high level of customer service and inter-personal
communicative skills. DUTIES: • Communication with rentals clients, caterers,
event planners and other suppliers re: FOH requirements to ensure expectations
are met and FOH notes are prepared for venue. • Order FOH consumables (bar
supplies) • Coordination of FOH deliveries • Participate in client tours with
Booking Coordinator and/or Booking Associate, Production, Box Office etc. •
Ensure clients, patrons and staff adhere to approved TCA policies and procedures
• Fire Safety, Health and Safety of clients, patrons and TCA staff • Show duty
• Review and Authorization of FOH timecards in ADP ezLabourManager • FOH Staff
management, including hiring and performance management
REQUIREMENTS:
• Superior organizational
skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Superior customer service skills
• Excels at working independently and within a team
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and statutory
holidays when required.
• Experience working for and with not-for-profit organizations
• Experience managing staff
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of OHSA, ESA and AODA
• Experience with ADP an asset
• First Aid, WSIB and Smartserve certification an asset
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and lift cases of bar
product.
