of Chief Executive Officer.
The RMG is a vibrant, engaging public art museum located in Oshawa’s city
centre. An external agency of The City of Oshawa, the RMG is the largest
gallery in Durham Region, and occupies an inspire
d 36,000 square foot building
designed by noted architect Arthur Erickson. Featuring a Permanent Collection
of over 4000 works, and five galleries of diverse and changing contemporary and
historical exhibitions, The RMG holds an important collection of modern
Canadian abstraction and the largest holdings of works by Painters Eleven. The
gallery has significant collections of Canadian contemporary art, including
public art, and an active acquisitions program. The Thomas Bouckley Collection,
which represents archival photographic records of over 3000 images of Oshawa
and the region, provides a vital link in connecting the community with local
history. A roster of dynamic public and educational programs, thriving
volunteer program, gallery shop, inspiring event spaces, art archive and
library, artist-in-residence lab, and art studio, comprise the gallery’s many
rich and diversified assets.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO leads a professional staff of 13
and is responsible for stewardship of an endowment of $4.5 million, and
oversight of an annual operating budget of approximately 1.4 million. The CEO
will provide leadership and creative vision for the gallery; execute and
advance a strategic plan aligned with the organization’s mission and artistic
and operational objectives; drive revenue generation, opportunities for social
innovation and growth as an institution; lead fundraising and philanthropic
efforts from public and private sector sources; strengthen and enhance a
vibrant business model that embraces the challenges and opportunities of the
21st century; mentor and inspire a team of valued professionals; and oversee
operations to ensure transparency, quality of experience, and cost-effective
management of resources.
Salary range: $100K to $115K, commensurate with qualifications.

Requirements:
