Extension
Forester (EF)  – NFC Rwanda
Summary
of the Position: this role will implement and scale NFC’s innovative out grower
scheme in partnership with the neighboring communities. The EF reports directly
to the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Manager (CSR PM).
Experience:
  • Working
    on an agricultural plantation, supply chain or outgrower scheme,
    preferably forestry
  • Forming
    and supporting farmer groups, business development and/or value chains in
    a rural setting
  • Working
    with or managing rural cooperatives and associations
  • Implementing
    community development and livelihood programmes
  • Project
    planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Developing,
    managing and reporting against a budget
Competencies:
  • Good
    report writing, communication, presentation and research skills
  • Ability
    to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including local
    government and community partners
  • Demonstrable
    facilitation, mobilization and training skills
  • Fluent
    verbal and written English and Kinyarwanda; knowledge of French is an
    advantage
  • High
    degree of integrity and personal responsibility
  • Excited
    by NFC’s Corporate Social Responsibility model, vision, mission, and
    objectives
  • Good
    interpersonal skills, demonstrating diplomacy and tact
Qualifications:
  • A
    relevant Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in Forestry, Agriculture or
    Community Development from a recognised institution
  • At
    least three years’ experience in extension/out grower programme
    implementation
  • Ability
    to ride a motorbike and in possession of a valid driving licence of Cat.
