Job
description
- Responsible
for the preparation of processing monthly payroll for over 513 employees;
review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets, track and deduct all
garnishees and special payroll deductions - Responsible
for the coordination efforts between Payroll, Human Resources and other
departments to ensure paper flow and maintenance of employee data
(including preparation/distribution of reports. E.g. overtime, locum work,
leave balances, head count, retirement contributions, etc - Handle
the administration of the electronic time-keeping system. Set-up each
employee and administer time sheets. Ensure valid data transfer to/from
payroll system - Establish/maintain
employee records on payroll system (VIP) and ensure that all changes are
entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper
authorisation in accordance with company policy - Responsible
for the preparation and the submission of the Annual PAYE tax return
Requirements
- A
recognised qualification in Finance, Accounting preferred (AAT is minimum
requirement) - Three
years plus in a payroll office performing all payroll functions - Knowledge
of remuneration processes and labour law, including areas such as tax
payment and exemption
Competencies
- Ability
to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion - Excellent
skills using MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet Explorer - Excellent
problem solving /judgement skills and high level of attention to detail
and accuracy - Strong
organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to
handle and prioritise multiple tasks and meet all deadlines - Strong
skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated
and automated payroll accounting system (VIP knowledge will be an added
advantage)
