Promundo-US, an
international non-governmental organization dedicated to gender equality and
violence prevention, seeks a Project Coordinator to be based in Kigali, Rwanda.
Duties include:
- Managing
a 3-year US$2 million grant focused on increasing the utilization of
sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and maternal health (MH) services via
engaging young and adult men, their partners, and health providers in the
health sector over 3 years - Coordinating
a team of fieldwork assistants, facilitators and technical specialists to
carry out health sector-based interventions and community campaigns - Managing
budgets and expenses related to the project to ensure that activities
remain within budget - Managing
consultants and vendor contracts - Monitoring
project implementation to ensure that activities proceed along the agreed
timetable, and results are being documented - Liaise
with designated Promundo-US and RWAMREC (implementing organization) staff - Familiarizing
oneself and adhering to local Rwandan laws and regulations - Periodic
reporting to funders and partners - Additional
program development & fundraising

Promundo
Founded in 1997,
Promundo is an internationally recognized NGO working nationally in Brazil and
globally in the area of gender equality and violence prevention. Promundo’s
base of operations is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where it carries out
community-based work to engage men and boys in gender equality; to prevent
gender-based violence and violence against children; to reduce homophobia; and
to empower and achieve the rights of women and girls. Promundo also serves as
global co-Chair and Latin American coordinator of the MenEngage Alliance, a
global network of NGOs and UN agencies working to engage men and boys in gender
equality. Promundo-US, a separate legal entity, coordinates technical
assistance outside of Brazil, carries out advocacy globally and supports
Promundo activities and fundraising in Brazil, and coordinates the global
MenCare Campaign.

About the
Position
The Project
Coordinator will report to a Program Officer of Promundo-US, based in
Washington, DC, but will work in Rwanda. Salary is $55,000-$60,000 per annum
depending on salary history and experience. Proposed starting date is March 1,
2013.
