• Technical Mentor Position• Client, Project & People Management
• No Marketing or ‘Work Winning’ Responsibility
There are few opportunities within the market where your technical brilliance, client management skills and mentoring ability are held above your ability to market and ‘win work’. This role is for a Technical Infrastructure Specialist who enjoys running jobs, and mentoring a team without the commercial pressure associated with most roles of this level.
Our client is well established internationally within the infrastructure sector. The Queensland region has truly come into its own over the last 5 years; realising successful project one after the next, providing their expanding professional team with the perfect avenue to develop themselves.
Their structures team is established, and led by a truly passionate and highly reputed engineer. Their success and ensuing growth has become too much for one leader, and we search now for a Principal Bridge Engineer to lead the team, so the Manager can focus on building the business.
Working as part of the management team, and closely with the Regional Structures Group Manager you are empowered to take ownership of projects, provide mentoring and guidance to the team on projects and for their careers. No politics or hierarchy here; and with major infrastructure projects already confirmed for 2011/12 this is a business secure in its future.
Based in central, highly professional offices, projects range across the infrastructure spectrum; and include major JV projects in addition to two and three hundred thousand dollar upgrades – this is a business that values all their clients, not just the ‘big ticket’ items.
Do you have what it takes to lead the technical excellence within this growing team?
Essential Skills/Experience Required:
• Bachelor Civil Engineering qualifications
• 15 years+ specialist bridge design experience within road/rail infrastructure projects; strong relationships with TMR; proven ability and want to manage projects
• Strong communication skills and mentoring nature; proven experience in a team leadership capacity
On Offer:
• Freedom to lead your team; fostering and growing skills
• Seat at the management table; without the pressure to ‘win work’
• Confirmed project portfolio – current and into 2011/2012
• No politics; perhaps the most flexible, social and ‘easy to work within’ consulting environment
• Highly professional and well organised team/resources
• Highly competitive salary packaging; + bonuses
If you are a Bridge Specialist seeking to lead a team in technical excellence – without commercial pressures of ‘work-winning’, this is the perfect environment for you.
