Postmedia is seeking an experienced digital
media professional to guide their network of digital products through their
next phase of growth.  The position reports to the VP Digital Businesses
and is based in Toronto. 
The Director, Digital Products will manage a
diverse portfolio of products which include facets that are either standalone
businesses or embedded across all digital platforms.  He or she is
responsible for rolling up their sleeves and using data driven decision making
to develop the overarching strategy for the products within this portfolio and
manage the day to day operations. Additionally, the Director will be a key
contributor in evaluating new business opportunities and identifying and
implementing successful strategies to grow audience and revenue across the
Postmedia Network of digital properties. Deep understanding of Digital
Advertising including Native Advertising, Online Video, Content Syndication and
Display Advertising is a must for this role.   
The ideal candidate will have a proven
track-record of managing digital media products through all facets of the
product lifecycle and be able to identify opportunities to increase revenue.
 The incumbent  will have deep analytical skills in order to identify
and grow audience and revenue for the organization. Experience developing
business cases and business requirements to deliver successful products that
align with organizational objectives and meet market demands are an essential
requirement.  He or she will be detail-oriented, organized, efficient and
excel at communicating with cross-functional teams throughout all levels of the
organization. The Director will cultivate strong working relationships with internal
and external groups, including content, sales, marketing and technical teams,
as well as with vendors, to drive collaboration and to ensure deliverables are
launched on time and to specification and budget. 
Vision, business acumen, leadership, interpersonal
skills and a record of achieving results are mandatory. A passion for
technology, marketing and media is essential. 
Specific Responsibilities:
•Work with the team of Product Managers to
ensure products are delivering or exceeding audience and revenue targets.
•Use your exceptional business acumen to
evaluate potential partnerships to drive operational objectives. 
•Develop opportunity assessments, benchmarks and
business cases to be presented to the product steering committee and champion initiatives
from concept to implementation.
•Build and maintain successful relationships
with stakeholders, external customers, and key vendors.
•Management of day to day business and product
operations.
•Develop the product roadmap in collaboration
with the VP of Digital Businesses and other key stakeholders and manage its
execution.
•Drive the product development process with key
stakeholders ensuring successful implementation of well-received product
features.
•Identification, measurement, and management of
key performance indicators.
•Lead the sourcing of analytics to gain key
business insights, develop strategic plans, and report on progress to senior
management team.
•Participate in overall strategic planning and
continually innovate to ensure that the products are relevant, valuable leaders
in their categories.
•Remain abreast of the competitive landscape and
digital media trends.
•Own the relationship with sales – be the
product champion and provide them with the products, pricing models and
materials to be successful.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Deep knowledge of leading digital media revenue
generating strategies including, Native Advertising, Online Video and Online
Display Advertising.
•6+ years experience in digital product
management.
•Media industry experience is strongly desired
or e-commerce, software development and technology roles.
•Proven experience building strong online brands
and experiences with a fluency in digital trends, fundamental web technologies
and user experience – solid understanding of HTML/JS/CSS preferred.
•Strong analytics and content experimentation
methodologies – we manage the business by numbers and KPIS, must have a solid
understanding of Omniture, comScore, Google Analytics or equivalent.
•A track record in audience development –
building traffic through SEO and a mix of digital strategies.
•Strong time management and project management
skills, above average ability to multi-task proactively and prioritize in
response to issues as they arise.
•Ability to think creatively and strategically
about customer, market and business issues; innovative and adept at problem
solving.
•Excellent communication, both orally and in
writing with outstanding presentation skills – pivotal to this role is an
ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and with all levels
of the organization.
•Positive customer service experience, including
negotiation skills – must have a passion for customers and an unflinching
desire to always do what’s right for them.
