a student population of around 1300 across the Junior, Middle and Senior
schools, the school has close to 80 non-Arabic teaching staff from a range of
English speaking countries. As well, there is a large Arabic staff as the
children are educated in two languages and two cultures. The school uses the

The role

- Class sizes are relatively small
- There are 7 lessons/day including Ministry classes with
Arabic teachers. Each non-Arabic teacher has nine non-teaching
periods/week. - Weekly small-team meetings mean there is a great sense
of team work and support amongst staff. - Regular extra-curricular activities includes Aussie
sports and swimming carnivals, family bush dances, competitive team sports - The school places a significant emphasis on sport for
girls and boys. - Students are more than 80% Muslim across 70
nationalities. Arabic is the first language of more than 50% of the
children hence teachers with ESL training and experience are ideal. - The school day commences at 7:30am and concludes
between 3:15-4:15 depending on the day - Three terms/school year from August to June. The
hottest time of the year is predominantly during school holidays when most
teachers return home or travel.

The package
- Free 1 or 2 bedroom modern, fully-furnished rental
accommodation; you pay utilities only - The accommodation is located walking distance to the
school campus OR cash towards 1 bedroom off-site apartment is provided if
preferred (at market rates). - Tax free monthly salary from approximately AUD$4,400
for a New Grad up to approximately AUD$6,000 for teachers with 10 or more
years’ experience - Annual return flights home or elsewhere to an
equivalent value - End of contract gratuity
- Annual gratuity after the first three years
- Option of an ongoing yearly contract after the first
three years - Gymnasium, pool, recreation room and trampoline on site
for teachers’ use - Health cover
- 8 weeks annual summer holiday during June, July and
August - Free tuition for your children/40% reduction in Nursery
costs for your pre-school children - The school can accommodate single teachers, teaching
couples and families where one or both parents are teachers. Non-teaching
spouses can often find work in the school doing various things.

- Weekends are relaxed with a big community atmosphere
- Attire is required to be modest with no shoulders, arm
pits or cleavage displayed - The school encourages modern thinking towards female
students eg sports days - Orientation to life and the school is provided for new
teachers and is offered from both an expatriate and Arabic point of view. - The weekend is Friday and Saturday.
Job requirements
- THE UAE teaching visa requires teachers have a Bachelor
degree in teaching so we are unable to accept applicants with
post-graduate teaching qualifications. - Ideally, a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience is
preferred although we welcome applications from passionate and
professional New Graduates who believe they have what it takes to become
part of this school - A good level of fitness and health, physically and
mentally. There will be a medical check carried out once in the UAE which
is a visa requirement. Certain types of medication are not readily
available in the UAE. - For teachers with more than 10 years’ experience,
Senior Teacher Status may be sought upon commencement at the school with a
corresponding salary increment.
