Partners In Health External Relations Associate Job Vacancy in Rwanda

Partners In Health/In(huti Mu Buzima (PIH/IMB) is a
Harvard-affiliated international NGO that has partnered with the Government of
Rwanda to strengthen the health system and support poverty reduction
initiatives in rural Rwanda since 2005. PIH/IMB is seeking outstanding
candidates for the following position. Further details, including full job

Position Title: External Relations Associate
Reports to: External Relations Coordinator (ERC)
Location: Rwinkwavu, Kayonza-Rwanda
   
Responsibilities:  

I. Visitor Management
• Under the supervision of the ERC, screen and manage visit requests.
• Assist ERC in tracking all visitors to IMB sites: maintain regularly updated
visitor calendar, send biweekly comings/goings report.
• Manage all visitor logistics.
• Under the supervision of the ERC, develop and plan itineraries tailored to
visitor interest.
• At times, host visitors: give tours of IMB sites; accompany visitors to meals
and tourist spots.

II. Communications
• Work with the ERC and Boston communications team to gather content for
communications.
• Gather patient stories and photographs for archives and communications
materials.
• Help research and write one story per month on exciting IMB initiatives for
the website.
• Build relationships with local media; help ensure one story per month is
featured in local media.
• Gather information for bi-weekly Rwanda updates to Boston staff and monthly
internal updates.
• Tweet at least once per day on the IMB Twitter account.

Requirements for the position:
• Bachelor´s Degree required; background/interest in communications, social
science, area studies or public health preferred.
• Demonstrated experience providing coordinative logistics support in an office
setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to interact confidently with
visitors.
• Superior writing and communications skills.
• Cross-cultural communication and business experience preferred.
• Enthusiasm for global health; interest in social justice and health care
issues.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation; demonstrated maturity
and good judgment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• English language skills required. French and/or Kinyarwanda preferred.
• Photography skills strongly desired.
