Farms Services Officer – NASFAM
Reports to the Farm Services manager, The Farms Services Officer (FSO) is
responsible for strengthening the capacities of the Associations within NASFAM
by managing the crop mix and crop diver
sification programs, crop production
projections, irrigation, livestock production and natural resource management
(NRM) activities, the Farmer to Farmer Trainers Programme as well as seed
systems. This is aimed at increasing the agricultural productivity and
quality of the outputs at cost-effective level son an environmentally
sustainable basis.
Develop ,manage and monitor crop production activities within the area of
operation, Coordinate and manage Association Field Officer’s activities
including the farmer Trainers and Crop Production Committees, Prepare annual
production targets, conduct production estimates, and advise the Farm Services
Manager on any developments throughout the production cycle, Provide support to
each association in preparation of crop production programs including access to
crop production resources, opportunities of new crops and/or opportunities for
production under contract to sport opportunities identified by the NASFAM
System, From strong working relationships with other agencies in the area of
operation, Prepare and submit on a timely basis all reporting documents
required by the Farm Services Manager
Minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or any
related field, Those with Diplomas coupled with at least 5 yrs experience are
also encouraged to apply, 3 yrs experience in extension service delivery,
Excellent report writing and communication skills, Be a self starter wand able
to work with minimum supervision
