Mitigation and Possible Ways of Preventing Global Warming Problems

Monsoon (2006) enumerated the following
as ways of reducing global warming, sharing the same view with Olorunda,
Houghton and other authors. They include:
·
Encouraging forestation programmes
·
Reduction of carbon-dioxide (CO2) emission into the
atmosphere
·
Usage of alternative energy e.g. solar energy for fuel.
·
Compliance to Rio Earth Summit (1992) and Kyoto protocol by
all countries since the world is a global village

·
Encouraging scientific research on climate change
·
Reduction of green house gas emission
·
The stabilization of world’s population
·
The rapid creation and development of environmentally
appropriate technologies
·
A comprehensive and ubiquitous  change in the economic “ rules of the road” by
which measure the impact of our decisions on the environment
·
The establishment of a co-operative plan for educating the world’s
citizen about our global environment.
·
The negotiation and approval of a new generation of
international agreements; agreements which must be especially sensitive to the
vast differences of capability and need between developed and developing
nations.
·
Produce less waste by buying minimally package goods and
reasonable products (recycle/ reduction).
·
Enforcing the energy conservation rules stringently in
industries where dangerous gases as either raw materials or finished products or
waste materials e.g. CO2, methane (CH4) etc. are emitted.
