The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources wishes to recruit suitable candidate qualified and experienced for the following vacant positions within Centre d’Informations et de Communication Agricoles (CICA):
1. Agricultural Extension Material Development and Production specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
1- Needs assessment in relation to extension materials of actors in agricultural sector;
2- Inventory, evaluation, adaptation, reproduction, and production of existing extension materials;
3- Preparation and updating of an extension material catalogue;
4- Development and production of new extension materials;
5- Drafting of Terms of references in preparation for tender for the design and production of extension materials;
6- Management (including supervision, monitoring, timely delivery, evaluation) of contracts with extension material providers(e.g. designers, printers);
7- Assessment of effectiveness of extension materials developed, produced and disseminated(Including outreach to intended target groups) and formulation of proposals for improvement;
8- Work closely with MINAGRI agencies, projects, task forces and programs in content development, pre-testing and evaluation of produced and/or existing agricultural materials;
9- Any other responsibility assigned by MINAGRI/CICA Management in relation to the development or production of extension materials, information sharing and dissemination.
Job profile:
1- Posses a bachelor’s degree (Ao) in Agricultural extension, Communication or journalism, Agricultural journalism, rural development or any other related field of study.
2- Posses a strong command of English and Kinyarwanda. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
3- A minimum of 2 years experience in extension material development.
4- Ability to work under pressure.
5- Excellent analytical, creativity, presentation, writing and communication skills.
6- Be a Rwandan by nationality.
