Reports
to:
Director Salary Scale: M.6
Duties
and responsibilities:
  1. To publish a
    minimum of one article a year
  2. To participate
    in writing of at least one policy brief annually in the area of
    specialisation
  3. To participate
    in MISR core research projects
  4. To take up
    teaching in not less than two (2) MISR graduate courses annually
  5. To attend at
    least two international or national conferences annually
  6. To prepare and
    submit an annual activity report
  7. To participate
    in policy and decision making in at least two (2) Committees
  8. To participate
    in workshops run by the Institute
  9. To perform any
    other related duties as may be assigned by the Director
Tenure
of appointment: Five (5) years renewable contract depending on satisfactory
performance following appraisal
Requirement:
Minimum
qualifications and other requirements
  1. A PhD by June
    2012
  2. All levels of
    experience will be considered
  3. Applicants
    must have a well-defined research agenda and a strong commitment to
    teaching in a graduate programme

must fall within any of the following areas of specialisation
  1. Political
    Studies
  2. Political
    Economy
  3. Historical
    Narratives
  4. Cultural and
    Literacy Studies
