Humanitarian and Rehabilitation Assistance Our mission is to assist in
rebuilding the livelihoods of peoples in Acholi and Karamoja regions who are
affected by warfare, conflict or natural disaster. We operate in 17 countries
in Africa and Asia. Our programmes in Uganda concentrate on Food Security.
Livelihoods/Economic Development. Education and WASH in close cooperation
with counterpart structures
For
our Pader and Nwoya Programmes, we wish to recruit for the following
positions:
MANAGER
EDUCATION & WASH (2)
Duty

Reports

Starting

Responsibilities:
  • Plans and
    implements activities and/or facilitates implementation of education
    & wash projects
  • Ensures
    monitoring and reporting of projects in line with donor requirements
  • Manages
    finances and expenditures according to the budget
  • Contributes to
    preparation and planning of projects and provide input for new proposals
  • Motivates and
    stimulates and supervises staff working on allocated projects
  • Stimulates
    good team spirit and Christian fellowship among programme staff.
  • Build and
    maintains good relationships with local authorities, other organizations
    and actors linking to the relevant sector
  • Main project
    components Education: promotion of (girl) enrolment, strengthening SMC’s
    and PTA’s. construction of classroom blocks and teacher houses, and
    mainstreaming HIV.
  • Main project
    components WASH: promotion of community led sanitation, forming and
    training WUC’s, promotion of ‘ideal homestead’ concept, drilling of borehole,
    construction of homestead and VIP latrines.
Requirements:
  • Good
    management, planning, communication, writing and facilitation skills
  • Excellent
    command of English
  • Inventive,
    creative and enthusiastic person (able to develop the best approach)
  • Willingness to
    live and work in Nwoya district
  • Degree or
    Diploma in Education, WASH or other relevant field
  • At least 4
    years successful experience in project manage­ment
  • Good computer
    skills,
  • Self
    motivator, having the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Experience in
    working with project cycle management
  • Knowledge of
    Luo is an advantage

For
the above position we are looking for a stable personality, who enjoys
working with little supervi­sion and in a dynamic environment.
