About the job:
As a Programme Support Officer in the Member Services Team, you will organise, attend and advise a portfolio of LGA member meetings. The role will include researching senior level briefing material, as well as preparing/and despatching agendas and drafting minutes and reports. You’ll also contribute to the development and improvement of support services for elected members.
About you:
You’ll have experience of servicing formal meetings as well as a sound knowledge of local government and an understanding of the LG Group’s work. Establishing good working relationships with Senior Members and Officers is key as you will offer them advice and guidance on procedural/constitutional issues. You will have excellent organisational skills and plenty of initiative. You’ll also be a proficient IT user and will have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Political sensitivity and outstanding communication skills are also essential to this post.
